AucklandMusic got some footage for the site from a poetry gig but there was no lighting so went out on the street to try and catch a busker and was lucky – my old friend Andy Blue was playing and I had my midrange camera on me – filming this on Queen Street Saturday 27th June 2009. Also captured a full dynamite 25 minute Andy Blue concert soon to be available for contributions to the artist on this site.
Our best wishes and sad thoughts for the entire Michael Jackson clan, and we see the industry quickly swinging back into profitability as demand for his music rises meteorically. People are just starting to notice how dark his lyrics are as they really listen to his songs. As much as his facial surgery and court deals and admissions went – it did not change his music from being rather good. His Auckland concert was admittedly one of the superior concerts I have attended, but his real value as an artist was his music, how he sang it and made it realistically romantic to so many while grabbing at his crotch and wailing in high falsetto about being in the closet. As the world’s most un/successful bisexual, depending upon how you view things, one fact remains – he exacted a difference upon the world in a way that very few individuals have – all his excess seems somehow “deserv-ed”. It is sad that he died before he was to perform his swan-song concerts in London. The three hundred million pounds of disposable income may even have an effect on London’s economy.
