Káren Hunter
New album Words & Groove
released on November 26th 2009 down at the Wine Cellar, St Kevin’s Arcade, Karangahape Rd, Auckland. A loyal crowd turned up to hear Karen Hunter perform most of her new album. A wonderful performance by Karen and the band was warmly enjoyed (and I believe lots of CDs were bought).

Check out the new single Long Hot Summer Night – a tribute to the legacy of Jimi Hendrix, featuring Roger Manins on Saxophone!
AucklandMusic proudly presents for the very first time, Scrapyard Cabaret on video

The Káren Hunter Ron Samsom duo accompanied by Neil Watson and Aaron Coddel on double bass – a jazz/grunge/folk ensemble to suit the late night set of K’Road in one sense, but with delicately played carefully composed music pieces in the Lynch inspired Scrapyard Cabaret.
Hunter’s vocal clarity and playful lyric is combined with a moving repertoire of sometimes quirky spoken word pieces and stories in a damn fine show.

Auckland based, highly talented original singer/songwriter, Káren Hunter has an extensive musical history in New Zealand; she’s been on stage as a singer songwriter since the early nineties and has released eight albums in twelve years.
