Spaceboy – (Matt Bowden)

Premier prog rock mega power progressive rock fantasy that you should be either sword fighting or making love while listening to it. Not just fire power here, but erotic landscapes of licking guitar excitement on top of virtuoso playing. This is not your average band. This is the new fire dawn in the Arthur Brown inheritance family, reminding me of the old grand master’s turn with Hawkwind, the nastiest of Jethro Tull as well as a hypersonic great bastard grandchild of Brian Eno washed over Faustian values of fantasy.

A layered cake of imagination precisely crammed into a musical space between the hard rocks assaulting your hearing properly like it used to, back in the day. Matt Bowden’s lyrics make this hard rock, but it is too musical to be thrashed.

Matt Bowden’s new album is set for release in 2010. And now you can hear his demos. Whatever they put in the water you have to hand it to him, he is creating his independent music dream and did I say you have to hear his wonderfully cheesy introductions to his otherwise chartable (new) demos.

This is top shelf music. Rare in its genre, at times its cell-vibrating, often its rich harmonics and exhilarating precision work, very rare can you be distracted.
